Since 2019 Adang Sea Divers is now a proud Sea Shepherd Dive Centre and Ocean Quest Global Conservation Centre. We are thrilled to be able to give back to our precious ocean planet by training our guests in Coral Propagation and encouraging marine conservation with Eco-Upgraded Fun Dives!

Coral Propagation Workshop
Price – 4,000 THB
Duration – 1 Day
This short coral gardening workshop is the most popular program for beginner coral enthusiasts. It is an introductory level training program that teaches the participants basic techniques of Coral Propagation. It is intended to educate the public in coral propagation for the purpose of broad scaled coral rehabilitation. Scientific information and findings are transferred into a simplified education system suitable for coastal communities and tropical islands. By increasing the population of people knowledgeable about coral rehabilitation it is possible to make restoration work on larger scale and more systematic way. This program is suitable for those short on time or those without a diving qualification as does not include any in water activity.
Things You Will Learn:
There are six important chapters in the Coral Rehabilitation Handbook:
1. Introduction to Coral Propagation – subject includes the benefits of coral rehabilitation to the society and Environment.
2. Corals – subject includes types and forms of corals, their importance in the marine environment, coral reproduction and more.
3. Equipment for Coral Propagation – a comprehensive subject covering all aspect of the equipment and instruments for coral rehabilitation.
4. Coral Broodstock Extraction and Handling – this subject covers proper procedures of extraction and handling corals. This is crucial step to ensure minimal impact and stress on the organism during the rehabilitation process.
5. Substrate – a subject that covers all types of substrates used in coral restoration, their advantages and disadvantages. It includes an overview of all man-made materials and natural substrates.
6. Coral Propagation Methods and Techniques – this subject covers the coral rehabilitation techniques invented by Ocean Quest.

Coral Propagation Course
Price – 10,000 THB
Duration – 3 Days
PRE REQUISITES – 12 years old, Advanced DIVER, 15 Dives logged and dived within 6 months.
Includes – Instructor and cert fees, propagation tools, Guide to Coral Propagation Book (PDF) and student kit.
The intent of the Coral Propagation Course is to give a thorough and full training course into coral propagation. After completion of this course, students are able to apply to take part in any of Ocean Quest Global’s ongoing coral rehabilitation projects worldwide. The Ocean Quest Coral Propagation Course is a comprehensive module that is aimed at developing deeper understanding of the coral rehabilitation techniques. Higher level of knowledge on coral handling and broodstock extraction is taught in this course. Site preparation, equipment and monitoring methods are also included in the course.
Things You Will Learn:

Conservation Fun Dive

Prerequisites – Advanced/Experienced Diver
When visiting Koh Lipe on holiday, it’s understandable that you may want to spend less time in a classroom and more time in the water. We offer our guests the choice to upgrade their Fun Dives to an Eco-Warrior Dive and do their bit to help save our precious ocean planet!
Over the years, so many of our guests have asked us how they can do more to help protect our beautiful coral reefs around Koh Lipe. As a Sea Shepherd Dive Partner Center, all our experienced dive team are now qualified to take our divers on eco-focused fun dives, where we not only get to observe the fantastic marine life of the Tarutao National Park, but also focus our dives mission on coral fragment collection and plugging (help save broken coral from dying off) and underwater trash collection inclusive of ghost net removal. When weather conditions permit, we can also take you to visit our coral nurseries to witness for yourselves the progress we have made since its start in 2019!

Dive Medical Check
NOTE:
We must let you know that certain medical conditions may prevent you from scuba diving such as asthma and heart conditions. If you are currently taking any medications, or are unsure about your fitness to dive, please have a look at the Diving Medical Questionnaire. If you answer YES to any to any questions listed then you must print out the RSTC Medical form and take it to your physician prior to coming to Thailand.

DEPOSITS
Deposit of 1,000 THB (fun divers) or 3000 THB (courses) are none refundable.
CANCELLATIONS
We require advance notice for cancellations and/or changes to your booking.
Any no shows/cancellations after 7pm the evening prior to diving, will not
be refunded and require full payment.
(+5 % charge where applicable)
COURSES
If for any reason you cannot complete a training course, you will receive
partial refund for the sections not completed.
If you require additional training to meet the course requirements, we reserve the right
to charge for additional dives and pool sessions.
