Our Vegan and Vegetarian Story …..
We first opened the vegan and vegetarian Benny’s On The Beach in November 2018. As a perfect addition to our Eco-Friendly family. We decided to serve only vegan and vegetarian food and drinks, as we truly believe that what we consume makes a HUGE difference to our precious planet, and it is our responsibility to promote and provide a conscious and sustainable way to eat wherever you may be in the world, including remote tropical islands like our precious Koh Lipe!

Why Choose Us?
Need a reason to eat vegan and vegetarian food on Koh Lipe? There is not enough space for agricultural farming on Koh Lipe, and being situated in a National Marine Park all fishing activities are illegal. So even if you may have thought what you are ordering is ‘fresh’, in fact all the meat, fish and seafood you would eat on Koh Lipe has to be packaged in plastic and polystyrene. Then shipped in from Thailand mainland and all over the world, and then delivered by smaller boats and couriers to each business on the island.
We decided this is definitely not a sustainable or environmentally friendly way to run a business here on this tiny precious island. So went about sourcing our delicious vegan and vegetarian ingredients from elsewhere! Our fruits and veggies are purchased locally straight from our friend’s farms in Langu. And Satun, and we ship in reusable packaging to avoid unnecessary waste. At Benny’s you are supporting local family owned businesses. And you can really enjoy a farm to table experience!

What else makes us Eco?
Our other environmental operational efforts include outdoor solar lighting, free water refills for guests with their own re-usable bottles or Trash Hero Bottles, and of course no single use straws and only fully biodegradable and compostable takeaway containers. Our showers and taps are all low water pressure, and of course we are strongly anti-toilet paper, and pro-bumgun!!
We have affordable and eco-conscious reusable products for sale at each location. Including bamboo or steel straws, steel water bottles and coffee cups, tiffin boxes, bamboo cutlery sets, bamboo toothbrushes, beeswax wraps, cotton shopping bags, reef-safe suncream and even shampoo bars!

What vegan and vegetarian food do we serve?
We really wanted to give you eco-conscious eaters as much choice as possible. Our Restaurant has a flavour packed Thai Food menu, with no MSG, fish sauce or shrimp paste to be seen. Everything is made fresh when you order. And our amazing Head Chef Rama even makes all the curry pastes from scratch!
We also offer more international options. Like the Benny Burger, Fried-No Chicken Tacos, and homemade Benny’s Fries served with our secret-recipe vegan alioli. We are firm believers that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So have our famous nutrient-packed Benny Bowls available. Along with cooked breakfast options and overnight oat bowls topped with local fresh fruits.

What drinks do we serve?
All day at Benny’s we serve fresh coffee (strong and black, or with rice/almond/coconut milk), which you can have hot, or over ice. We also do fresh daily fruit juices and herbal teas, plus a great selection of local zingy cocktails! We have free drinking water for all our guests. Or for extra good hydration, we strongly recommend ordering one of our local fresh coconuts!

Beach Beats, Chill Vibes, Sunrise and More….
We are so blessed to be located on an amazing spot on Koh Lipe. At Sunrise Beach, you can head down the the beach from 6am onwards to witness some on the most spectacular views of daybreak. Then follow it up with a fresh and healthy breakfast from 7am when we open.

The Team Behind The Vegan and Vegetarian Dream!
Kris, Clare and Pi Nok have been working on Koh Lipe since 2013, and
started out in the Diving industry with Adang Sea Divers. Things quickly
progressed into focusing on more eco-conscious diving tuition and snorkeling excursions with Adang Sea Eco-Tours, and then
environmentally friendly accommodation with Adang Sea Eco-Lodge.
After this the final piece of the puzzle fell perfectly into place in the form of Benny’s On The Beach (aptly named after our best friend, inspiration and mascot Ben the doggy) helping Adang Sea become the first and only eco friendly and sustainable resort on Koh Lipe!
With a fab menu as our foundation, and our team consisting of
Laiza, our ever-smiling General Manager from the Phillipines, Wa Wa from Satun, a master at creating and spinning cocktails, Pupy our coffee maestro from Hat Yai, and Katy and Keira our super serving girls, we really feel our focus on good products and top service shines through. We hope every guest who comes to visit, feels like a true part of our Koh Lipe family.
